A BIT ABOUT ME

My Experience, My Passion

As a professional PADI and RAID Scuba Diving Instructor, I offer a hands on, learn at your own pace, no pressure, experience. After training and certifying at different levels with PADI, PSAI, TDI and RAID, I've realised that it's not really the agency you learn with that matters but how you relate to your instructor and how you, as a person, learn best and I've used that to influence and develop my own unique and effective teaching methods to help you achieve your aims and get the best out of your learning objectives.

THIS IS WHY WE DIVE...

“From birth, man carries the weight of gravity on his shoulders. He is bolted to earth. But man has only to sink beneath the surface and he is free.”

-Jacques Yves Cousteau-

The Way the World Learns to Dive®

A BIT ABOUT PADI

PADI Divers carry the most respected and sought after scuba diving credentials in the world. No matter where you choose to dive, your PADI certification card will be recognized and accepted. In fact, on most scuba diving adventures, you’ll be surrounded by other PADI Divers who made the same certification choice you did – to train with the world’s largest and most respected scuba diving training organization.

HOW IS PADI DIFFERENT?

Education - The PADI System of diver education is the most instructionally solid system in diving. PADI courses are designed to make learning enjoyable and worthwhile. Under the guidance of your professional PADI Instructor, you gain confidence while mastering important safety concepts and skills. PADI Instructors are trained and held to diving’s highest standards, backed up by a solid, proactive quality management system.

PERFORMANCE BASED LEARNING

You progress at your own pace as you demonstrate mastery of specific performance requirements essential to becoming a scuba diver. You must earn your PADI certification, but you do so in an encouraging and well-supported learning environment.

EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS

Credentialed instructional designers use state-of-the-art technology and learning theories to create PADI materials with you, the student diver, in mind. Independent study materials, available in a variety of media – online programs, tablet-based apps, manuals, workbooks, multimedia discs, etc. – allow you to learn in a way that works for you. Instructional support materials allow your PADI Instructor to further explain important concepts and verify understanding.

EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS

All PADI programs, from entry-level through scuba instructor training, fall under strict educational standards monitored for worldwide consistency and quality. PADI takes a proactive approach to quality management and randomly surveys PADI Divers to confirm their courses meet PADI’s high standards as well as the divers’ expectations. No other diver training organization works to maintain this level of professional reliability and integrity.

CONTINUING DIVER EDUCATION

The fun and enjoyment of being a confident scuba diver is fueled by continuing to improve your scuba skills. Each PADI course builds on the previous one, teaching you skills and techniques when you’re ready to learn them. PADI specialty courses let you explore specific dive interests. Professional-level courses let you live the scuba diving lifestyle by becoming a divemaster or scuba instructor.

"Dive Training In A Class Of Its Own"

A BIT ABOUT RAID

The Rebreather Association of International Divers, RAID, is the world's fastest growing diver training agency with both full service and satellite regional offices, dive stores and instructors waiting to provide diver services to you across the globe. RAID is also the first diver training agency to offer a complete range of online diver academic programs from beginner to instructor examiner levels in snorkeling, scuba and freediving.

FROM REBREATHERS TO RECREATIONAL

The Rebreather Association of International Divers, first developed training for rebreathers or closed circuit scuba diving. The “technical” merits of the training programs proved very successful and demand grew for similar training courses to be offered for open circuit divers. Unlike many other agencies that are primarily recreational oriented and which have then added “rec-tec” or “tech” courses to their programs, the development of RAID’s broader recreational program came directly from the rigorous requirements of so called “technical diving”. Those same training philosophies and methods were then adapted for recreational diver training – examples of this are the emphasis placed on the amount of time actually spent in the water practicing core diving skills, the early stage introduction of enriched air use and the importance placed, from the very beginning, on the core skill of buoyancy, the foundation on which all diving skills are built.

EARLY LEARNING OF INWATER SKILLS

At RAID we feel there are no short cuts to training. For example, our most popular entry level program: Open Water 20, requires more in-water hours developing skills than is generally required by industry standards. This means new divers are able to build their skill level whilst maintaining their personal confidence and safety a general philosophy that is practiced by RAID professionals throughout all courses.

To be a RAID instructor, or even a RAID entry level diver, your buoyancy control needs to be at the top of the skills list. While diving is a safe sport if you gain proper training and follow the safety rules, the Divers Alert Network (DAN) statistics has revealed that dive accidents often reflect poor buoyancy control and therefore is a major risk factor in all forms of diving. This is why at RAID we put so much emphasis on great buoyancy control at every level of training. For example, the RAID Open Water 20 course introduces buoyancy skills, whereas at that level other training agencies generally reserve it for a separate specialty course, and we do this because we believe it is important to develop buoyancy skills from the beginning to ensure safe and enjoyable diving practices.

NO CLASSROOM BUT ALL CLASS

RAID’s online training system incorporates over 50 courses. It is the most comprehensive and largest bank of online courses in the dive industry covering every level of training from snorkeling to high-tech rebreather diving. These online courses allow the student to progress through the diver academics at their own pace, any time, anywhere. This approach also allows the RAID instructor to spend more time in the water with students developing their skills.

ADVANCED QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEM

RAID is a dive centre based training agency, meaning that all RAID professionals and instructors are associated with a dive centre and do not operate as “one man bands”, ensuring a higher level of oversight and quality control. This ground breaking quality assurance program incorporates a globally acclaimed and fully integrated approach to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
